Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating a GharAI account or using gharai.co you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What GharAI is — and is not

GharAI is a home-building marketplace that connects homeowners with KYC-verified contractors, tradespeople, and material suppliers, alongside free planning tools (reference floor plans, a cost calculator, a Vastu guide). Planning outputs are advisory and for early-stage planning only.

We are not architects. No GharAI output is a sanctioned drawing. Before any municipal submission or actual construction you must engage a Council of Architecture (COA) registered architect and a licensed structural engineer to review and counter-sign all drawings, as required under the Architects Act 1972 and applicable building bylaws.

BOQ estimates carry an explicit ±15% uncertainty band and depend on your pincode, material quality, and contractor pricing. Final cost will vary.

3. Vastu disclaimer

Vastu Shastra recommendations are traditional cultural guidance, not scientific or legal requirements. The Vastu strictness setting is yours to control. We do not warrant outcomes attributed to Vastu compliance.

4. Your account

  • You must be 18+ and provide accurate information at sign-up.
  • You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • One person, one account. No automated sign-ups.
  • We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (rate-limit evasion, fraud, scraping).

5. Subscriptions, payments, taxes

  • Posting projects and receiving quotes is free for homeowners.
  • Any optional paid plans for contractors or homeowners are as listed at /pricing.
  • Payments to GharAI (if any) are processed by Razorpay. Pricing shown is inclusive of 18% GST.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the next billing date.

6. Marketplace, contractors, payments

GharAI runs a contractor marketplace. We verify KYC documents (PAN, GSTIN) but we are not a party to the construction contract between you and the contractor. Payments for construction work happen directly between you and the contractor — GharAI does not collect, hold, or route those funds and is not a payment aggregator or escrow agent for them. We are not a guarantor of work quality.

Disputes go through our 4-step process: triage → owner evidence → contractor reply → mediator. SLA is 72 hours per stage.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or train AI models on the service.
  • Use the service to design illegal structures or violate building bylaws.
  • Upload content you don't own.
  • Impersonate another person or contractor.
  • Bypass rate limits or abuse the dispute system.

8. Intellectual property

You own the inputs you provide. We grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the reference floor plans, cost estimates, and exports we provide for your personal home-construction purposes. We retain rights to the underlying engine, templates, and aggregate anonymised data.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from contractor performance, municipal sanction outcomes, or third-party services.

10. Termination

You can delete your account anytime from /account. We may terminate access for serious or repeated breaches; we'll give 14 days' notice unless the breach is fraud or illegal activity.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
